About Me

Who am I?

I'm Jenny and I am the happy wife of Steven, a truly amazing man...my sweetheart since I was just a teenager.  I have always believed that we have a love like no other. Maybe I live in a dream world, but hey, I'm crazy about him!

I am also blessed to be the mom to 10 amazing kids... 7 boys (!) and 3 girls.

In 2008 we moved from the suburbs of southern CA (where we grew up) to a slower paced, country life on 3.5 acres in Mississippi.  We are still amateurs at small time farm life, but we are learning and are enjoying the adventure.  Of course the easy part was learning how to rock in our rocking chairs and drink sweet tea!

From a young age all I wanted to do was live a life that was sold out to God.  And through the ups and downs of life, by God's grace, that is still my heartbeat, and my husband's as well.  Our deepest desire is for our children to share this passion and as a family make an impact in this world for Christ.  We are far from perfect, in fact we are messed up in so many ways...but we serve a God who loves to pour His grace on sinners.

So why am I blogging?

Well, to start, I want to break down any false perceptions that we have it all together.  One thing that hinders true fellowship is this idea that everyone else has it figured out and I'm just plain messed up.  It isolates us and leaves us all living behind a mask.  I want to walk in the light, not hiding my sin or my struggles, so that others will feel safe to be themselves and walk in the light with me.

But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another. 1 John 1:7

It's only through being real and honest that we can find true fellowship.  And with true fellowship comes encouragement.

But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Hebrews 3:13

So that is my prayer... that you find encouragement here.  Walking with Jesus is where we find fullness of joy, but it isn't always easy, and some days I fail miserably.  But God is merciful and gracious and never lets go of my hand.  Maybe something that God is teaching me can encourage you as well....from deep heart issues to practical daily life (as a homeschooling mom of many).  And then you can be an encouragement to someone else....and we can walk together in the light, learning more and more how to abide in Him and in His love, bearing lasting fruit that will impact the world for Christ....after all, that is The Fruitful Life.
